About Us

Oromo Evangelical Church of Ottawa began as Oromo Christian Fellowship in 2004, bringing together believers from the Oromo community to worship and grow in faith.

By God’s grace, in 2011, we were officially established as a church, continuing our mission to share the gospel and serve both our community and beyond.

The Oromo people are a nation from Ethiopia, speaking Afan Oromo, one of the country’s widely spoken languages. While our roots are in the Oromo heritage, our church embraces people from all backgrounds, united in Christ.
